Expanding on salient themes in (Re)Print, this conversation gathers artists using appropriation to destabilize the logics of colonialism, capitalism, and heteropatriarchy. Borrowing from diverse source material like TaĆno iconography and Ebony and Jet magazines, the artists will discuss the utility of historical citation and the possibilities for intervention through print. Understanding appropriation as a liberatory, critical practice, this conversation includes multimedia artists Glendalys Medina and Dana Robinson.
Organized and moderated by Alex Santana, Curatorial Associate at Print Center New York.
